This week we had the pleasure of helping a group of McKinney Girl Scouts earn their jewelry badge! They learned all about the different gemstones, how to properly clean jewelry, the importance of having jewelry checked on a routine basis and what being a jeweler entails.
A few highlights from their visit include: learning their birthstones, seeing our jeweler use her torch, and of course they couldn’t leave without a new piece of jewelry!!
Although we do love our diamonds and jewels, it was extremely rewarding interacting with all the girls and seeing the excitement on their faces. We sometimes forget the real meaning behind Girl Scouts; to build courage, confidence, and character. It is truly an amazing organization, providing the teachings and knowledge to give them the skills for success!
